GreenThumb Oswestry
Lawn Care Treatments, Repairs and Maintenance Services in Oswestry
Welcome to GreenThumb Oswestry
For over 15 years, we have been providing exceptional lawn care services in Oswestry and the surrounding areas, with a focus on outstanding customer service and high-quality lawn care. Since taking over the Oswestry branch in 2008, Jason and Vicki Bell have overseen consistent growth, driven largely by word-of-mouth referrals from satisfied customers who value the care and attention given to their lawns.
In recognition of their commitment to excellence, Jason and Vicki were recently awarded the prestigious Which Franchisee of the Year Award 2024, a testament to their dedication and hard work in the industry.
Today, alongside their experienced team, they manage over 1,100 lawns across areas including Oswestry, Llangollen, Ellesmere, Whitchurch, Malpas, Welshpool, and Newtown. From small residential gardens to large country estates, the team ensures that every lawn receives expert care, and that customer satisfaction remains their top priority.
Each lawn we service benefits from a minimum of five scheduled, customised treatments per year. We use high-quality fertilisers and products to maintain lush, healthy lawns, free from weeds and other common lawn issues.
Our skilled Lawn Specialists are trained to apply specialised treatments, including insecticides, fungicides, and wetting agents, to address a variety of lawn problems, from insect infestations and fungal infections to drought-related concerns. We now also offer a ‘Lawn Refresh Treatment’ which is a six part process designed to rejuvenate and transform a lawn by removing the thatch and introducing good quality grass species, along with aeration to ensure that air and nutrients can reach the soil.
In recent years, we have seen an increase in lawn issues caused by changing climatic conditions, such as:
- Red Thread: A fungal disease affecting lawns.
- Leatherjackets: Grubs of the cranefly that feed on grass roots, causing unsightly bare patches.
- Chafer Grubs: The larvae of the Chafer beetle.
- Dry Patch: Areas where grass dies back due to lack of moisture, treatable with aeration and our specialist Water Conserver treatment.
- Moss: A widespread problem due to prolonged wet weather, treatable with our micronutrient feed, which also tackles moss.
Jason and Vicki are also actively involved in the local community, proudly supporting organisations such as Hope House Children's Hospice, Llanfyllin Football Club, Oswestry Cricket Club, Wynnstay Bowling Club, and the RAFA Bowling Club in Llangollen.

Frequently Asked Questions
When can I start using GreenThumb?
You can adopt our services at any time of the year. There is never a ‘bad time’ to start improving your lawn.
Do I have to be at home when you come and treat my lawn?
The majority of our customers are not at home when we call. Since all our vehicles and Lawn Operatives are self-sufficient, we can carry out your treatments as long as we have access to the lawns.
If you would prefer to be in when we are treating your lawn, we will do our best to accommodate your request.
I have children and /or pets. What should I be aware of?
We recommend that you keep off the lawn until any liquid part of the treatment has dried (approx. 2 hours). This stops it being walked off. And this is especially true of our NutraGreen Autumn Long Treatment, we recommend that you keep off the lawn for more than 2 hours then as it could stain a carpet or wooden floor, if it were walked into the home.
Grazing pets such as rabbits and guinea pigs should be kept off the lawn for a minimum of two weeks or three cuts, whichever occurs latest, to avoid ingestion of Ragwort, in particular, which becomes poisonous to them as it dies back.
Do I have to sign a contract?
No, we want our customers to continue with GreenThumb based on our merits in creating a healthier, greener lawn for them - not because they are stuck in a contract. Of course, with our treatment programmes, you will need to sign a Direct Debit Mandate with the relevant T&C's which relate to this payment option.
