Welcome to GreenThumb Isle of Wight

GreenThumb Isle Of Wight is a family run business with over 50 years’ experience in professional lawn care. This experience has varied from professional Greenkeeping - maintaining immaculate golf courses across hampshire right down to local gardens here on the Island. We now have the privilege of working with the leading lawn care experts GreenThumb.

We took over the island business in 2014 and have enjoyed every moment of keeping our wonderful Island green. As the leading lawn care company our focus lies solely with our customers here on the island and there green spaces. We have access to bespoke products not available to others which reflects in the results of our work. It is our desire, passion and focus to contribute our experience directly to our customers  lawns with a friendly face from our local team.

The team comprises of Shem (Franchisee and Manager), Sasha (Back office), Laura (Office administrator / customer service), Mike (Senior lawn operative) and Kevin (Lawn operative).

We cover the whole island and have customers all over it, keeping their home’s look the very best. It ranges from stunning competition winners, very large lawns, hotel and commercial grounds as well as the smallest of lawns that still manage to turn heads. Currently we are servicing over 1000 lawns (and growing!) across the island, this means that we are never too far away and will be able to react to any issues you may be experiencing. This coupled with our knowledge of the soil conditions in different parts of the island means we can really be there for you when you need us.

We’d be honoured for you to be one of our happy customers and have a wonderful, lush green and weed free lawn. Please give us a call and we’d love to be of any help we can for you.

What we have on offer for you:

  • A FREE full lawn analysis to identify any lawn issues and importantly - the causes.
  • A treatment programme specifically tailored to the needs of your lawn and complementing your requirements and budget.
  • Ongoing tips, advice and care driven from our wealth of experience.
  • Bespoke and exclusive treatments, discounts and brilliant results.
  • An ever-growing list of wonderful treatments to solve your lawns problems.
  • The ‘Best Lawn Ever’ with a stunning Lawn Makeover.

Whatever condition your lawn is in we will have a solution, we can help the lawn hold onto more moisture if needed and we can even slow the growth down to give you a thicker and fuller lawn!  We will give you a beautiful lawn you can be proud of.

As well as our fertiliser, weed control and moss control treatments, we also manage lawn pests and diseases, including organic control. During the Autumn & early Spring months, we are incredibly busy hollow-tine aerating and scarifying our customers’ lawns in preparation for having them look their best for the coming season. This is some of the most vital work that can be done for your lawns and will help reduce and control moss.

We are always innovating and improving what we do. New treatments, ideas and methods are improving and our recent addition has been the incredible Lawn Makeover. With this, we can simply rid your lawn of all the issues and leave you with a what can only be described as the ‘best possible lawn’. Surprisingly, this is extremely competitive when compared with turfing and often cheaper.

What to do next?

You can start your treatments with us at any time during the year, we’d love to hear from you. How will you contact me?

When can I start using GreenThumb?

You can adopt our services at any time of the year. There is never a ‘bad time’ to start improving your lawn.

Do I have to be at home when you come and treat my lawn?

The majority of our customers are not at home when we call. Since all our vehicles and Lawn Operatives are self-sufficient, we can carry out your treatments as long as we have access to the lawns.

If you would prefer to be in when we are treating your lawn, we will do our best to accommodate your request.

I have children and /or pets. What should I be aware of?

We recommend that you keep off the lawn until any liquid part of the treatment has dried (approx. 2 hours). This stops it being walked off. And this is especially true of our NutraGreen Autumn Long Treatment, we recommend that you keep off the lawn for more than 2 hours then as it could stain a carpet or wooden floor, if it were walked into the home.

Grazing pets such as rabbits and guinea pigs should be kept off the lawn for a minimum of two weeks or three cuts, whichever occurs latest, to avoid ingestion of Ragwort, in particular, which becomes poisonous to them as it dies back.

Do I have to sign a contract?

No, we want our customers to continue with GreenThumb based on our merits in creating a healthier, greener lawn for them - not because they are stuck in a contract. Of course, with our treatment programmes, you will need to sign a Direct Debit Mandate with the relevant T&C's which relate to this payment option.
